Barbara Wright, Team Runners
High's long time, member and good friend died this morning March
21, 2007 at her home in Los Alamitos. Her son Michael and
daughter Kelly were with her at the end. Barbara left us much to
soon at 62 years old.
Barbara waged her almost 2 year battle with cancer with a
positive attitude, determination, grace, and good humor. She had
many up and downs in her fight but for the most part she was
always smiling and sure that it would turn out OK. Along the way
she had to deal with the sudden death of George in November
2005.
Barbara was a tremendous athlete, a runner, biker, swimmer and
triathlete. She and George were competitors in more than one
Hawaii Ironman competition.
It is now believed that there will be a service for Barbara
sometime in early April. More on this later.
As a way of helping us all deal with the death
of Barbara Wright TRHers and others are invited to send in
tributes to and stories about Barbara. These tributes and
stories will in turn be sent out to the entire team in the
weekly e-mail updates.

The Barbara Wright Memorial Sunday April 22, 2007 -
The memorial to celebrate Barbara Wright's life was held on Sunday, April 22, 2007 in the Fitness Center at Orange Coast College.
Among the 300 to 400 attendees were 40 to 50 Team Runners High members. The ceiling and walls of the center were strung with an amazing number of cards sent to Barbara during her long fight with cancer (there had to be thousands). George's sister gave the opening and closing prayer. Friends and family spoke of their love, friendship and experiences over the years with Barbara. Michael Wright delivered an extremely loving verbal letter to his mother. Amy Fillipow presented an amazing photo Montage of Barbara's life which demonstrated her motto "Live. Learn, Laugh and Love". Following the service there were refreshments, fruit and cookies served outside.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for a scholarship in Barbara's name at Orange Coast College. Please send donations to:
